The Marquis Shopping Center is located next to Water Country USA on the east side of town. Building got caught up in the 2008 recession so smaller stores have not come on line. The majors for now are Target, Kohl's, JCPenney, Best Buy and Dick's Sporting Goods

One of the earliest planned shopping districts in the nation, Merchants Square was built during the restoration of Colonial Williamsburg to house the moved businesses to the west side of the Historic Area. The multi-block Square boasts superb restaurants, unique gift shops, clothiers, galleries, home & decor shops, bookstores, the Kimball Theatre and is the Saturday morning home of the Williamsburg Farmers Market.
