Boone Hall

The original Plantation house has been lost to time, what remains are 1930s home & a number of original brick outbuildings & an amazing avenue of live oaks. The plantation dates back over 320 years, still producing crops & offering living-history programs.

Fort Sumter

Decades of growing strife between North & South erupted in civil war on April 12, 1861, when Confederate artillery opened fire on this Federal fort. Fort Sumter surrendered 34 hours later. Union forces would try for nearly 4 years to get it back.
